River Runner ("the app") is an arcade game published by Cloud Kick Games. This policy explains what data the app does — and does not — handle. Read it together with the in-app behaviour: nothing in this document overrides what the app actually does on your device.
The app is fully playable offline. It includes optional online features — leaderboards, achievements, and cloud backup of your game progress (saved games) — powered by Google Play Games Services. These only ever activate if you choose to sign in. If you never sign in, the app collects and transmits no data at all.
If you do not sign in to Google Play Games: none. Without sign-in, River Runner does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data, makes no network requests for gameplay, and includes no analytics, telemetry, advertising SDKs, or crash reporters.
If you choose to sign in to Google Play Games (an optional action you start from the menu or settings), the app uses Google Play Games Services to provide leaderboards, achievements, and cloud-saved game progress. To do this, the following is processed by Google Play Games Services:
Cloud Kick Games does not operate its own servers and does not separately receive, store, or sell this data. It is handled by Google Play Games Services on your behalf to run the leaderboard and achievement features. See section 4.
The app stores a small amount of data locally on your device, using
Android's standard SharedPreferences mechanism. This data
never leaves your device and is not accessible to us or any third party.
It includes:
This on-device data stays on your device unless you sign in to Google Play Games, in which case your game progress (coins, owned cosmetics, high score, and progress counters) is also backed up to Google Play Saved Games so you can restore it on a new device — see section 4.
You can remove the on-device copy at any time by clearing the app's storage in your device's Settings, or by uninstalling the app. Removing a cloud backup is done through Google Play Games (see section 4).
The app's optional sign-in, leaderboards, achievements, and saved games (cloud backup of your game progress) are provided by Google Play Games Services, a service operated by Google. When you sign in, your interaction with these features — including the saved game data stored in your Google Drive application data space — is governed by Google's own privacy policy and terms:
Signing in is optional and can be declined; the game remains fully playable without it. You can manage or sign out of your Google Play Games profile, and control what it shares, through the Google Play Games app and your Google Account settings. Removing your leaderboard scores, achievement progress, or saved game data is done through Google Play Games (saved games can be deleted from the Google Play Games app), as that data is held by Google's service rather than by us.
River Runner is suitable for general audiences. With no sign-in, the app collects no personal information from anyone, including children. Signing in to Google Play Games is optional and is subject to Google's account eligibility and age requirements; that sign-in and any data it involves are handled by Google.
The only third-party service the app integrates is Google Play Games Services, and only when you choose to sign in (see section 4). The app integrates no advertising, analytics, or other third-party SDKs.
If a future version of the app changes its data behaviour, this policy will be updated before that version is released, and the effective date above will change. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes on Google Play.
